Take Note is a high quality non-profit performance choir who specialise in close harmony a capella using beautiful arrangements. Our goal is to perform at events including those for charity, and develop our skills as singers, learning and improving together.
It is important that our choir members are challenged with a wide variety of pieces, and gain a sense of achievement and joy through the success of bringing our voices together. We are dynamic; performing across multiple genres using simple to complex arrangements.
We expect our members to be able to follow direction and while sight reading is beneficial, we support those who don’t – having an ear for singing is more important and we accommodate both methods in practice.
Enthusiasm, energy and a willingness to dig into progressing songs is key and help us continue to grow our own skills as individual singers.
We are a safe space for those who want to sing and perform but set clear expectations for our members from the outset regarding the level and the quality we seek.
While we understand rehearsal attendance is not possible every week, we expect all members to keep up with the standards that we set for ourselves and we encourage each other to maintain that standard.
If you are interested in joining Take Note, we have regular taster sessions that will allow you to visit, and get the full choir experience. Taster sessions are free, but if you decide to join, membership is £15 for the four weeks and thereafter £20 every four weeks, collected via bank transfer (if this is an issue for you, please contact the committee to have a chat).
